Calhoun County Phoenix is the centerpiece for media in Calhoun County, Iowa. CCP was founded by NMC in 2022, and is stationed in Lake City and Rockwell City, Iowa.

The Akron Hometowner was purchased in July of 2023 by NMC. It has been in circulation in some capacity since the late 19th Century.

The Anamosa Journal-Eureka is the oldest newspaper under the Nelson Media Company division starting back in 1856. It was purchased by NMC in February of 2024.

Linn News is one of the oldest newspapers in the state of Iowa. It started back in 1888, and was purchased by Nelson Media Company from WCI in February 2024.

The Wright County Independent was established in May 2026, building on Nelson Media Company’s acquisition of the Belmond Independent in August 2025, followed by the Wright County Monitor and Eagle Grove Eagle in May 2026. The three longtime publications were then united to form one countywide newspaper serving communities throughout Wright County, Iowa.

The Osage Oracle was established in 2025 after Nelson Media Company acquired the Mitchell County Press, a newspaper with roots dating to the 1860s that was facing closure, and rebranded it with a renewed focus on Osage and the surrounding community.

The River Register was established in 2026 after Nelson Media Company acquired the Nora Springs Rockford Register and rebranded the publication to expand local coverage throughout Mason City, Nora Springs, Rockford, Rudd, and surrounding communities in Cerro Gordo and Floyd counties.

The Grundy Register was acquired by Nelson Media Company in 2026 and provides comprehensive local coverage throughout Grundy County, Iowa, including its communities, schools, businesses, government, sports, and events.

The Butler County Eclipse was formed in 2026 when Nelson Media Company brought together the Parkersburg Eclipse, Butler County newspaper, and Clarksville Star into one countywide publication, creating a stronger local newspaper dedicated to serving communities throughout Butler County, Iowa.

The Winnebago County Tribune was acquired by Nelson Media Company in April 2026 and provides comprehensive local coverage throughout Winnebago County, including Forest City, Lake Mills, Buffalo Center, and surrounding communities.
